Garrett Levesque was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts and took up the violin at the age of 5. He attended arts magnet public schools from elementary school through high school, balancing passions for the sciences and the arts. He was a member of several district, all-state and all-national ensembles as a violinist in high school and played with the Boston Yourh Symphony Orchestra for 3 years during this time as well. In college, he studied chemistry and chemical biology with a minor in music at Cornell University. As a member of the orchestra, he went on tours to both Ireland and Argentina in collaboration with professional orchestras from both countries. Throughout high school and college he worked as an intern for CFO Solutions, a company that works to simplify financial planning for corporations internationally. He has also worked as a tutor in the sciences both online and in person, and he spent two summers as a field work research assistant studying stress responses in tree swallows. He is now working as a domain expert in biology and chemistry to train a cutting edge AI model. He is looking to ONLA for a way to give back to the community and combine his love of music and financial strategy as a treasurer and board member starting this upcoming season.
