Xenos Mason (Board Member)
Xenos Mason, board member, is 35 years old, originally from Toronto, Canada. He lived in Boston from 2010-2019 for medical training, then moved to Los Angeles with his husband, Daniel, and their dog. They reside in West Hollywood. He enjoys casual reading, casual gardening, casual baking, casual hiking, casual horn playing, and casual dress.
Xenos is an Assistant Professor at USC Keck School of Medicine. He is a movement-disorders neurologist, and the Director of the Deep Brain Stimulation Program for Keck Hospital. He sees patients in clinic 2-3 days per week, mostly those with Parkinson disease, tremor, and other disorders of excess movement. He has also founded a Deep Brain Stimulation program for LA County Department of Health Services at Rancho Los Amigos Rehabilitation Hospital to serve the public system. He has appointments/privileges at Arcadia Methodist (now USC Arcadia), Verdugo Hills, Los Angeles General Hospital, Rancho Los Amigos, and Keck Medical Center. He is also a member of the Center for Music, Brain, and Society at USC Dornsife (https://dornsife.usc.edu/cmbs/).
Xenos is the Founder and Director of the USC Musician’s Neurology Clinic. In this role he is closely tied to the Musician’s Wellness Program at the Thornton School of Music and acts as a consultant for musicians with neurologic issues, pain, or undifferentiated symptoms. He staffs a monthly “free” neurology clinic at Venice Family Clinic. His colleague/co-attending at this clinic, Dr. Nancy Sicotte, is the chair of neurology at Cedars Sinai.
